When I arrived at the University of Dayton, I heard a lot about community. At first I thought it was just something schools say, but here I have experienced how real and alive it is. I have felt welcomed and supported in so many ways, whether through my professors challenging me to grow in class, or the students I have met who extend kindness and encouragement. UD quickly became a second home.

What makes this community so meaningful is the Marianist Mission at heart. The values of family spirit, inclusivity, and service are not just ideas, they are lived out in the everyday actions of the people here. From the diverse clubs and activities that bring students together, to opportunities to meet people with similar backgrounds and stories, I found space where I truly belong.

The Marianist Mission has also shown me the importance of carrying these values beyond campus. Community does not end at UD, it is something I want to bring into every part of my life moving forward. Whether that is in my future career in dentistry or in the neighborhoods I hope to serve, I want to live out the Marianist call to serve others, welcome all people, and uplift those in need.

While continuing my journey at UD, I already know the Marianist Mission will remain with me far beyond these years. It has given me both a home to grow in and a vision for how I want to contribute to the world.
